Managing school

Managing school

School can be stressful at times for lots of different reasons. While your parent/carer might be focused more on your grades, you might be more concerned with other things such as your friendship group or changing schools.

It's important to find a balance between working hard and having fun, and to look after both your emotional and physical health.

What can I do?

1. Develop a routine.
Think about what worked well last year and how you could implement these for next year. What didn't work? Could you change things to make it easier for this year? Learning how to manage your time is a really great skill you will have throughout your life!

2. Plan ahead.
Think about the coming year. What are you looking forward to? What are you worried about? Can you make a plan to help school run more smoothly?

3. Look after your physical health and mental health.
Doing regular exercise, eating a healthy diet and getting enough sleep are all really important for managing the demands of school. Managing your time and scheduling downtime everyday to do something you find relaxing and fun is important. Remember it is all about balance!
