What about treatment?
There are a number of organisations and services available to support you in your treatment and recovery, as well as free online self-management resources like 'Beating Bipolar' (click here) and 'Keeping Your Balance' (click here). You may find some forms of support more helpful than others.
Support in Hospital
If you are very distressed by your symptoms and they put you or others at risk, the doctor may think the best place for treatment is the hospital. Hospital should be a place of safety and treatment. While you are there, mental health nurses can care for you and the doctor can make sure your medication is working effectively.
